Welcome to the Department of Child Health Nursing at Mar Sleeva College of Nursing, Palai. Our department is committed to enhance the health and well-being of newborns, children, and adolescents. We achieve this by delivering student-centered nursing education, and fostering a deep culture of continuous professional development.

VISION
To develop highly competent and compassionate pediatric nursing professionals who understand the unique health needs of children. The department blends simulation-based learning with evidence-based education to prepare students to deliver exceptional, quality care to neonates, children, and critically ill adolescents.
MISSION

Develop the right clinical skills, deep knowledge, and a caring attitude needed to treat sick and newborn children safely.

Equip students to give complete, family-focused care to children in both hospital wards and everyday community setups.

OBJECTIVES

Learn modern pediatric nursing concepts and core healthcare philosophies.

Identify normal developmental stages from newborns to teenagers to identify growth delays early.

Prepare students to provide physical, nutritional and developmental check-ups across all childhood age groups.

Interpret infant growth charts, weight scales and newborn APGAR scores accurately.

Equip students with newborn resuscitation and pediatric basic life support.

Provide care that cover’s a child’s nutrition, mental well-being and play therapy needs.
